b-active during the school holidays

There’s lots to do for children in the school holidays, including learn to swim, splash sessions and cheerleading.

Opening times

Off-peak times take place Monday to Friday until 3.45pm in our gym and until 4pm in our courts, and also all day during weekends and bank holidays.

Springwood Leisure Centre's facilities and activities

• Use our b-active gym.
• Take part in our group exercise classes, including Bootcamp Circuits, Body Balance and Zumba.
• Take part in our Spin classes.
• Use our courts, sports hall or pitches for you or your club.
• Book your child onto one of our sports coaching courses.
• Children can take part in our holiday activities.
• Book a children's birthday party.
• Hire our meeting and training rooms.

Active Living sessions at Springwood Leisure Centre

We run activity sessions for people who are new to exercise or returning after a break called ‘Active Living’ sessions. Take part in swimming, badminton, bowls and group exercise classes. These sessions are also suitable for older people.

Accessibility at Springwood Leisure Centre

Our sports centre has received the Level Two (Registered) Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) Mark for providing fitness facilities and accessible areas. Our b-active gym also uses Technogym equipment which has been accredited by the IFI.

At our sports centre we have:

• ramped entry into the centre
• automatic doors for easy wheelchair access
• a hearing induction loop available at reception
• a Minicom to help hearing impaired people to contact us
• toilets and changing rooms for disabled people
• equality range of gym equipment
• a wheelchair lift
• disabled car parking.

How do I get to Springwood Leisure Centre?

Springwood Leisure Centre is located in Oakwood about three miles north of Derby.

Catch the 22, 24 or 26 bus towards Oakwood.

There is free car parking on site for Springwood customers and bike racks outside the building.
