Tourism - support for business

Tourism – and the support we provide for tourism businesses

We offer tourism businesses a range of services to help them promote their services to visitors and residents, including:

• advertising in publications we produce, such as the Derby City Essentials guide
• listing tourism businesses and related special offers on the Visit Derby website
• providing tourism advice for businesses or special events
• offering space on Council stands at shows/exhibitions (we normally charge a fee for this service).

We also offer opportunities for tourism businesses to promote their service or events to people visiting the Tourist Information Centre, including:

• displaying event flyers and posters
• booking visitors into accommodation establishments for a small fee
• selling tickets for attractions, such as AltonTowers and Derbyshire County Show - we normally charge businesses a commission fee for this service
• giving general advice on tourism, and inviting businesses to take part in our

annual Family Fun Day in the Market Place.
