Climate Week is a supercharged national campaign to inspire a new wave of action on climate change. It culminates in thousands of events and activities, planned by organisations from every sector of society. Showcasing real, practical ways to combat climate change, the campaign aims to renew our ambition to create a more sustainable, low-carbon future.

Climate Week is backed by every part of society, including the Prime Minister, Paul McCartney, the NHS, Girlguiding UK and the National Association of Head Teachers.

During the last Climate Week, over 3,000 events were attended by half a million people across the UK for the second successive year.

What's on?

Tuesday 5thMarch

  • Drop-in advice session at the Council House main reception area from 8.30am to 2.00pmFind out about saving energy at home. If you're a small business, find out about Bespoke energy grants from 8.30am to 10.00am.

Wednesday 6th March

  • Climate Coalition public 'Energy we can all afford' event - St Peters Centre from 6.30pm
  • Fantastic Homes energy display vehicle outside HSBC bank - St Peters Street from 9.00am until 4.00pm.

Friday 8th March

  • Home Energy Advice drop-in - Central Library from 10.00am to 12 noon.

We want you to start thinking about how you could showcase your organisation's sustainability initiatives during Climate Week 2013. Email us on climate.change@derby.gov.uk  and tell us what great things you have planned. We will then share it on our website, along with events that are being run across the city.
