Photo Market - FORMAT 13 Festival launch

Derby's Victorian Market Hall is one of FORMAT 13 Festival's official venues on the festival's launch event. The Market will be opening for trading on Sunday 10th March as part of the Photo Market event.

FORMAT's Photo Market is an eclectic and vibrant mix of offerings from both the local community, and also the wider photographic community. The Photo Market features celebrated book publishers, photo magazines, galleries and independent photobook producers set amongst a vast array of local merchants selling everything from puzzles to pyclets and flowers to fish hooks. FORMAT’s Photo Market is truly a market like no other.

Some exhibitors will remain in the Market for the Festival period - and will be included in visitor tours - but over 20 exhibitors will be situated in the Hall in vacant stalls on the launch weekend.

Exhibitors include: Dewi Lewis, Prestel, Oodee, High Chair Editions, Limitd, Diesel Books, Darwin Magazine, Wideyed Collective, Benedict Phillips, St. Austell Student Collective, FORMAT and more.

FORMAT International Photography Festival

The FORMAT International Photography Festival was founded in 2004 by Louise Clements and Mike Brown. It's recognised world-wide and is a must-see event in the photographic calendar. It is organised and hosted by Derby QUAD and the University of Derby, with the support of parties such as Derby City Council.

Located in Derby the FORMAT festival has built its reputation through its championing of international photography and in particular bringing new talents from China, Indian sub continent and the Middle East to the UK for the first time. The Festival has always provided opportunities for emerging photographers to show their work and continues to do this. Entries came from over 30 countries this year.

The FORMAT 13 Festival will run from Friday 8th March to 7th April 2013.
