Derby and Nottingham City Councils have launched a new combined commercial waste service (as of 1 April 2018). This quality service is part of the Derby and Nottingham Metro Strategy, creating a stronger working partnership that offers value for money for public and commercial services.
You still have a legal duty of care to make sure that any waste you produce is handled safely and within the law.
We will continue to provide collections of:
All other trade waste collections will be provided by the Metro Partnership.
Our existing trade waste customers will continue to enjoy efficient and hassle-free collections, with Metro vehicles visiting to collect your recycling and waste. You’ll see the same crews, and they will continue to come to you on your scheduled days, so your service will experience no disruption at all.

Added together Derby and Nottingham is one of UK’s most important urban areas and also one of the top 30 population centres in Europe. The Metro Strategy provides real opportunities for both councils, which is why we have taken the decision to work in partnership with Nottingham in providing our trade waste service.
Working with our neighbours allows us to make the most of the resources we both have, so while Nottingham handles the trade waste, we can focus on other areas where we can shine.
