Council meetings and engagements
All public meetings are taking place virtually using Skype for Business. They are also being livestreamed on the our YouTube channel. The channel also includes recordings of previous meetings.
From 6 May 2021, all public meetings will take place physically, while following social distancing guidelines. Members of the public are encouraged to continue viewing meetings online, as capacity in the Council Chamber’s public gallery will be very limited.
Details of public meetings will be published in advance:
- Agendas and reports for all public meetings are published five working days before each meeting.
- The dates and times of upcoming meetings are available to view on the meetings calendar.
Paper copies of agendas are not available for public inspection as Democratic Services are currently working from home.
Invitations for in person civic engagements are being accepted on a case by case basis.
Event organisers must submit a risk assessment which complies with:
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor continue to accept invitations for virtual engagements held over Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Civic Services are working hard to make sure longstanding relationships with partners and local organisations are maintained through virtual events, by using social media and sending messages of support from the Mayor.
Residents can still request messages from the Mayor for significant birthdays and anniversaries through the online booking form.
As ward surgeries currently cannot take place as usual, councillors are being supported to introduce virtual surgeries. Residents will be able to book an appointment through the Members’ Services team to speak to their local ward councillors via Microsoft Teams. Email email@example.com.
Virtual surgeries will take place monthly.
