A phased re-opening of our sites will take place during August, allowing as much use of library facilities as is safe and practical at this time. While we are very much looking forward to seeing our members again, inevitably there will be changes to the services available, and opening hours. The safety of our customers and staff is our priority.
The Home Library Service has now resumed, and Derby Local Studies and Family History Library is taking enquiries, by phone, text and email.
Riverside Library will reopen from 10th August, and Mickleover Library from 11th August, for customers to browse and borrow books and use PC’s. From 24th August, Alvaston Library and Normanton Library will operate a Click and Collect service, where customers can return books and collect reserved items.

Springwood Leisure Centre, Queen’s Leisure Centre and Derby Arena have reopened to the public for pre-booked gym sessions and fitness classes.
Moorways Stadium has re-opened for outdoor track running and outdoor ATP (Artificial Turf Pitch) bookings.
Learn to Swim classes and private swimming club bookings have also resumed at Queen’s Leisure Centre. Also Lane Swimming, Atlantis Splash and Family Swim are now available to pre-book online or by phone.
Badminton courts are available to book at Springwood Leisure Centre, and Derby Active Gymnastic coaching sessions will re-start on Tue 29 Sept.
Indoor Track Cycling for accredited riders is now available to pre-book at Derby Arena. We will be looking at expand our cycling programme in the future weeks, as we ensure all safety measures are in place following British Cycling and the governments guidance.
As our facilities follow governing body published guidance on safe practices, as advised by the government we can continue to provide group activities of more than 6 people. Casual bookings for team sports of more than 6 people, cannot currently be allowed.
Our centres are running differently for now, with safety measures like screens, hand sanitiser dispensers, one way systems and increased cleaning. The safety of customers and staff is our priority, so we also ask that everyone visiting follows the governments Covid guidelines - wash hands, wear a face covering and make space.
We request that customers wear a face coverings in our facilities, which can be removed when entering the room where your activity takes place.
We want to reassure customers what hasn’t changed is the warm welcome from Derby Active.

In line with Government guidance, our indoor and outdoor events programme across the city will not be going ahead until at least the end of August 2020, with some indoor changes across the Autumn.
The Hannells Darley Park Concert on 30 August and Derby Folk Festival from 2 to 4 October have both been cancelled as live events, but will go ahead as virtual online events instead. More information, and details of all events that are affected, can be found on the Derby LIVE website. We will update this list when new information becomes available.
The Sales and Information Centre phoneline on 01332 255800 is now open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, but the building at Riverside Chambers, Full Street, Derby, remains closed to the public.

To ensure staff and public safety, enhanced cleaning and other social distancing measures are in place. We are constantly reviewing these procedures.
We ask that you use the NHS App for Test and Trace and face coverings are worn while queueing at all our catering facilitates.

All angling on Derby’s parks is managed by the Earl of Harrington’s Fishing Club, who have put guidelines in place for it to resume. The guidelines include the requirement for anglers, as is the case with all park users, to practise social distancing.
