Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond to serve their local community, organisation or has been made an impact nationally? We are looking for nominations for the Queen’s Birthday and New Year’s Honours.
Honours are a brilliant way to recognise the achievements of those who have gone above and beyond to serve their local community, organisation or the country. Nominations can be made for people who volunteer or work in the following areas:
If you wish to nominate someone, please send an email with details of the nomination to email@example.com
If you, or someone you know, residing within Derby, is due to celebrate a 100th birthday you can request a Civic recognition of this special occasion. In addition to this, we would be delighted to also recognise milestone wedding anniversaries (minimum of 50 years).
The person(s) celebrating their birthday/anniversary will receive either a telephone of Skype call from the Mayor and Mayoress to congratulate them.
Where possible, the Mayor and Mayoress would like to visit the person(s) to present them with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of Derby City Council, however this is dependent on availability and the individual circumstances of the person.
Nominations should be made at least six weeks prior to the birthday/anniversary date. Please use the form below to submit a nomination.
You can make a request for Her Majesty to send a congratulatory message to individual British Nationals on reaching their 100th and 105th birthdays. It is also possible to receive a belated message up to six months after the event.
The Queen may also be requested to send a congratulatory message to couples who reach their diamond (60th), 65th and 70th wedding anniversaries, and every year thereafter.
