Mill Fleam Pump Station
Derby City Council gives notice that an environmental statement has been prepared in respect of proposed improvement works to the flood defence on Markeaton Brook in Derby between Station Approach (NGR 435781, 336109) and (NGR 435841, 336067), a distance of approximately 80 metres. The proposed improvement works will involve the following: construction of flood gates to control floodwater from the River Derwent, a flood defence wall to protect the pump station and a pump station to take water from the Markeaton Brook around the flood gates.
This notice relates only to the Mill Fleam Pump Station, which is part of the wider Our City Our River Flood Risk Management Scheme.
The Environmental Statement covers the whole scheme.
Copies of the statement may be inspected, by prior arrangement, at Council House, Corporation Street Derby DE1 2FS. Appointments must be between the hours of 0930 and 1530.
A reasonable charge reflecting printing and distribution costs may be made for a copy of the whole or part of an environmental statement.
Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified below, within 30 days of publication of this notice.
If no representations are received in respect of the environmental effects of the proposal within this time period, then the proposal will proceed to be implemented. It is anticipated that works will commence in May 2022.
