Our adoption services are now part of Adoption East Midlands. This is an organisation comprising of local authority and voluntary adoption agencies operating across the East Midlands to improve the prospects for children needing to be adopted and people looking to adopt.
By working closely together, Adoption East Midlands can more effectively find the best matches for children across the region.
We have joined with Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Derbyshire County Council to form a Regional Adoption Agency within Adoption East Midlands. There is now one regional team covering adoption services in all four areas and we can accept adopters from across the East Midlands.
Please visit the Adoption East Midlands website for further information about adoption. Visit our support page to see how we will help you through the adoption process and also provide guidance after you have adopted.
When you feel ready to take the first step towards adoption, contact us to find out how we can help you get started on your journey towards becoming an adoptive parent.
Non-agency adoption involves placements that have not been arranged by a local authority or registered adoption agency (other than children brought into the UK for the purposes of adoption). This will include applications by step-parents, relatives, private foster carers or local authority foster carers who have not sought or obtained the local authority's approval for the placement becoming an adoptive placement.
