What is adoption?

Adoption is when a child or children become permanent members of your family, for life. It is a legal process that transfers all parental responsibilities to the new adoptive parents.

Many of our adopters come from neighbouring cities. Adopting with us gives them a chance to give their new family members a fresh start in a new residential area.

How can adoption in Derby make a difference?

Adopt with us and you will be giving Derby children the best start in life as a member of your family.

Children who are most difficult to adopt include sibling groups, children over 5 years old and children with emotional, physical and learning disabilities.

Adopting these groups of children is a very rewarding experience. You can learn more about this by coming to one of our adoption information meetings.
