Anyone can apply to become a Shared Lives Carer and can choose whether they want to offer short or long term support. If you are interested, you can meet one of our team who will explain the scheme and help you decide if it’s right for you.
If you want to join, we will ask other people who know you if they think you would be able to meet the needs of adults requiring support - we call this taking up references.
We will also ask if you have been in trouble with the police.
Do Shared Lives Carers get paid?
You will get paid for providing support. The rates vary depending on the support you give.
