Information and Advice Network

The Information and Advice Network is a partnership of local organisations and agencies that meet regularly to discuss the delivery of information and advice to Derby citizens. The network provides an excellent opportunity to link with other organisations in relation to the provision of information and advice services. The focus of the network is to support organisations to work together to:

  • support the delivery of Derby City Council's Your Life Your Choice Information and Advice Strategy
  • ensure that limited adult social care resources are targeted at the most vulnerable citizens of Derby, those with relevant and eligible care needs
  • coordinate the provision of information and advice across Derby and promote effective working relationships between providers
  • continually seek to improve the availability and quality of information and advice provided in the City for vulnerable people, whether eligible for social care support or not.

The network:

  • works closely with the Sound Advice Scheme developed by the Derby Information and Advice Partnership
  • is consulting on the Sound Advice quality mark level one
  • provides networking opportunities at meetings and through the contact list
  • provides regular email bulletins to update members on developments in local services and support for vulnerable people
  • promotes benefits of joint working within its members and with other initiatives in Derby
  • plays a key part in finding solutions that support the delivery of Derby City Councils Your Life Your Choice Information and Advice Strategy.

The Organisational Model shows the relationship between the Information and Advice Network and the Derby Information and Advice Partnership as well as showing what the aims of the Information and Advice Network are.

The City Councils Voluntary and Community Sector Partnership Team arrange and chair the meetings which are held in different community centres around the City on a regular basis.
