Care Act Training Resource

Throughout 2015 and 2016 we have been working with Health Education England to raise awareness of the Care Act 2014 across Derby City and Derbyshire.

To promote ways to improve adult social care we have held workshops for people to come along and find out more about the Care Act and the kinds of social care support people should expect.

The Care Act 2014 is the biggest change in adult social care legislation for more than 65 years, putting people and their carer’s in control of their care and support.

There is lots of information relating to the Care Act and we would like to share the different resources with you too so that you can be better informed if you are a person who uses services, a family/friend carer or provider of social care services.

We hope you find these resources useful and you are able to share them with others who might also be interested.

The key principles of the Care Act

  • Promoting wellbeing of both the person needing care and their carer
  • Prevention and delay of the need for care and support
