Consultation on Polling places open now
Published: 27 September 2019
Local Authorities are periodically required to undergo a review of the suitability of its polling places. An initial stakeholder was held over the summer engaging with key stakeholders, such as councillors, staff, Members of Parliament, the Council’s Diversity Forums and those responsible for venues that we use currently or propose to use in future.
The review considered
- electorate sizes
- future housing developments that may affect the number
of electors allocated to a polling district
- location and suitability of the current venue
- any alternative venues that may be more suitable
- suitability of disability and access arrangements
The (Acting) Returning Officer has now published their Polling place review proposals including proposals to re-draw the polling districts of Derwent Ward polling alterations, Chaddesden Ward polling alterations, Littleover Ward polling alterations and Mickleover Ward polling alterations. Maps relating to the changes in these areas are linked.
