Derby Active’s leisure facilities are ready to welcome customers back from Wednesday 2 December.

Derby Active’s leisure facilities are ready to welcome customers back to Derby Arena, Springwood Leisure Centre, Queen’s Leisure Centre and Moorways Stadium from Wednesday 2 December.

Not all activities will be available, as we follow the Government guidance for Tier 3, which Derby will be in from this date. The safety of our customers and staff remains our priority, and measures that were in place before our temporary closure will continue.

Screens, increased cleaning, and separate entrances and exits will all be in place, and customers are asked to play their part by following social distancing, using the hand sanitiser provided and wearing face coverings, if you can, when walking around the building. Please don’t come to our facilities if you, or anyone in your household, is feeling unwell.

Under Tier 3, group exercise classes cannot take place, which is why we will continue to provide our online Derby Active at Home programme so you can get the benefits of exercise in the comfort of your own living room. Find out what we have on offer on the inDerby website.

Indoor track cycling cannot go ahead at Derby Arena in Tier 3, but cyclists can join our free online home cycling programme on the inDerby website.

Here’s a round up of our available facilities. All activities should be booked online on the Derby Active website.

Derby Arena – The gym is open, but the infield area and cycling track remain closed.

Springwood Leisure Centre – The gym is open. Gymnastic coaching sessions are continuing as normal. Badminton can be booked by people living in the same household or bubble only. Outdoor courts are only available for club bookings.

Queen’s Leisure Centre – Lane swimming is open for online bookings. Learn to Swim lessons for under 18s are continuing as normal, but under Tier 3 restrictions only one spectator can accompany each child. Adult Learn to Swim sessions and Aqua classes are not available while Derby is in Tier 3.

Moorways Stadium – Run Track sessions can be booked online. The outdoor courts are available for club bookings.
