As part of the A52 improvement project we’re replacing the Meadow Lane footbridge, linking Chaddesden to the Wyvern and Pride Park.
To prepare for demolition, the current bridge closed to the public on Monday 29th April, and the demolition took place over the weekend of Friday 17th May.
A time lapse film of the footbridge demolition is available to view online.
It is anticipated that the new footbridge will open in Spring 2020.
Improving the A52 will bring great benefits to a congested part of Derby’s roads; including better access to the city, improved air quality and a boost for our economy.
