NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Derby City Council proposes to make the above Orders under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act hereby proposes to make the above Orders.
The purpose of these orders is to introduce the following restrictions at the locations stated below:
No Waiting At Any Time (NWAAT) at the junction of Lawrence Street and Derby Lane.
To be installed:
- Outside 31 Derby Lane at its junction with Lawrence Street.
- Outside 48 Derby Lane at its junction with Lawrence Street.
- Existing restrictions outside 46 Derby Lane to be extended by 3 metres along Lawrence Street.
Prohibition of driving of motor vehicles at the junction of Lawrence Street with Kenilworth Avenue for a distance of approximately 10 metres.
This will be supported by changes to the road layout that physically close the entire road width of Lawrence Street, apart from a 1.5m wide cycle lane, at its junction with Kenilworth Avenue. The footway will be constructed over the existing carriageway, and there will be changes to signs and road markings. Reasonable access to premises will be maintained as alternative routes to the street are available via Derby Lane. Access for cycles will be available in one direction only, entering from Kenilworth Avenue into Lawrence Street.
A copy of the proposed Order together with maps which show the definitive extents of the proposals, a copy of the Authority’s Statement of Reasons for proposing the Order and the Order being amended, may be inspected on the Derby City Council website on this page.
