Enterprise 4 Education are holding their annual awards event online

Enterprise 4 Education are holding their annual awards event on 18th August to recognise the recent educational and professional successes of young people in Derby. The event will be held online to comply with social distancing guidelines.

The Derby City Raising Aspirations Awards celebrate the 15,000+ careers encounters between students and employers that have been achieved in the twelve months to March 2020. The virtual ceremony will recognise the team of over 800 employer volunteers who make those numbers possible.

The event is sponsored by Derby City Council, Rolls-Royce, and Copemann Ashby, with further sponsorship from other organisations for the eleven individual award categories, designed to celebrate the combined passion and determination of local young people, schools and business community.

The awards categories are:

  • Young Achiever
  • Aiming High
  • Brilliance Award
  • STEM Award
  • Creativity Award
  • School of the Year
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • COVID-19 Resilience Award
  • COVID-19 Community Award
  • COVID-19 Resourcefulness Award

You can find out more about each award on the E4E website.

The event will run from 6.00pm to 8.00pm and can be watched live by via YouTube.

E4E was set up by Derby City Council to help link employers with schools and students, helping them to boost their employability and enterprise skills through real world development opportunities.

Councillor Evonne Williams, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:

It’s important that we’re still able to recognise the important work of initiatives like E4E and the dedication of schools and students, even though we can’t physically be together to celebrate. We already know that school-leavers are at a particular disadvantage as a result of the pandemic, but as a community and employers we should continue to offer support and advice to prepare young people as best we can for their future careers and education.
