Waste collections affected

Due to staffing levels, some waste collections are currently being affected. The Council is working hard to minimise the effects on residents and would like to apologise for any inconvenience or disruption.

Where possible, additional drivers are being drafted in from other Council services to ensure as many collections as possible can go ahead as scheduled. Like other industries, the Council are also being affected by a lack of drivers caused by the HGV test backlog. 

Currently, missed bin and brown bin collections are being affected. 

Councillor Jerry Pearce, Cabinet Member for Streetpride and Public Spaces commented: 

"I would like to pass on my thanks for the hard work that the refuse teams are doing in this difficult time. I’d ask residents to please be patient and to help us by reducing their waste where possible. We will ensure that black and blue bin collections are prioritised and will do our best to maintain a full brown bin collection service. Where we can’t empty bins, we will do everything we can to get these collected as soon as possible after their scheduled collection.’’

Missed bins

Residents whose bins have been missed should leave their bins presented for collection and we will attempt to return as soon as possible for these. Any additional recycling waste can be presented alongside blue bins as long as it is suitably boxed or bagged (in clear plastic bags).

Brown bins

We have been unable to collect brown bins from the following streets today (Wednesday 22 September). Please leave them presented for collection and we will return as soon as we can.

Waste
