Parents can get tips to help with homeschooling.

As the country continues to live under lockdown restrictions many school pupils are having to learn from home, with parents and carers stepping in as teachers.

Derby Adult Learning Service (DALS), Derby City Council’s adult education provider, are on hand to support families and school staff with a new and exciting range of free sessions. The sessions are all available online and offer guidance and information to help you with home schooling, as well as providing valuable wellbeing and mental health support for you and your child.

The Lockdown-Home Learning Tips for Parents, and Home Learning Tips for Parents with Children with Additional needs programmes can also help you to find good educational resources and creative activities.

The sessions currently being offered are:

  • Helping your child with Maths
  • Helping your child with English
  • Wellbeing – Boost your Personal Resilience

These sessions run alongside the full range of DALS programmes that can be found on their website.

Learners can enrol via the website, by calling 01332 956 565, or by emailing DALSenquiries@derby.gov.uk. You can also find regular updates from DALS on Twitter.
