The younger generation are showing their support for the future of Derby

Derby’s bid to be the home of Great British Railways is receiving support from young people across the region, as the public vote enters its final week.

Derby is one of six locations, from the 42 that expressed an interest, to be shortlisted for the new home of the Great British Railways (GBR), and now young people in the region are showing their support.

In our latest video supporting the bid, Dani, an apprentice at Alstom, shares how the railways have been a key part of her family’s history and have shaped her career today. Asha, also an Alstom apprentice, says that without Derby’s strong railway sector she would not be able to follow the career she wanted.

The public vote closes on Monday 15 August 2022. To vote for Derby now, visit the GBR website
