Victoria and Albert Street Area - Waiting Restriction

Derby City Council (Victoria and Albert Street area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No.121) Order 2024 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Derby City Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf.

The order proposes to introduce and revoke restrictions at the following locations:

Victoria Street and Albert Street

All existing waiting restrictions on both sides of Victoria Street and Albert Street are to be revoked; between the Corporation Street roundabout, and the junction with Wardwick and St James’ Street.

On the southern side of Albert Street outside the Corn Exchange buildings introduce a:

• No Stopping (At Any Time) (Except Local Buses) (Clearway Extent Only) bay
• Loading Only (5pm to 10am) No Waiting (Except Taxis 10am to 5pm) bay
• small section of No Waiting (At any Time) and No Loading (At any Time)

On the southern side of Victoria Street between the junctions of St Peters Street and Green Lane introduce a:

• No Waiting (At Any Time) (Except Taxis) bay,
• Loading Only (5am to 5pm) No Waiting (Except Taxis 5pm to 5am) bay

On Victoria Street outside the Condor building introduce a:

• No Stopping (At Any Time) (Except Local Buses) (Clearway Extent Only) bay for three buses

No Waiting (At any Time) and No loading (At any Time) introduced to all areas of Albert Street and Victoria Street other than at the locations of the restrictions mentioned above.

No Waiting (At any Time) and No loading (At any Time) outside McTurks on Morledge at its junction with Albert Street; and on the corner of Wardwick at its junction with Albert Street, to replace the existing No Waiting (At any Time) restrictions.

Corporation Street

The existing bus, taxi and loading bays are to be revoked and reintroduced to allow for minor adjustments in location and length, with the existing bus bay on the eastern side of Corporation Street to be formalised by traffic regulation order.

Derwent Street

The area of No Waiting (At any time) at the entrance to the Riverside Chambers is to be revoked.

No Waiting (At any time) to replace the bus bay outside the Riverside Chambers.

Objections to the proposal stating your grounds of objection should be sent, in writing, to Traffic and Transportation, Communities and Place, Derby City Council, Council House, Corporation Street, Derby, DE1 2FS or by email to traffic.management@derby.gov.uk to be received no later than 21st March 2025.
