Advice for displaced residents
Dedicated number for help and advice
We understand this is a difficult time, and we want to ensure you have the support and information you need.
A dedicated emergency phone line has been put in place for impacted residents as a single point of contact that will be available to assist you with any questions or concerns.
The direct telephone number is 01332 640046 and is open between 9am and 5pm. After 5pm until 9am, calls will be diverted to Derby City Careline.
If colleagues are unable to provide you with an immediate answer to your query, they will take your contact details and ring you back when they have the details that you need.
How the Emergency Plan works
Emergencies like this are complex, fast-moving situations, and while immediate safety is always the first priority, we recognise that clear and consistent communication is equally vital - especially for those directly affected.
The Emergency Planning service is provided by Derbyshire County Council for Derby City Council and the other districts and boroughs within Derbyshire.
During a major incident, a multi-agency response is activated under the Local Resilience Forum (which is known locally as Derbyshire Resilience Partnership), with clear roles and responsibilities for each agency.
In the initial stages of an incident, control of the emergency response is usually led by either Derbyshire Police or Derbyshire Fire and Rescue. In this case, Derbyshire Police will lead the initial response.
