Before and after school clubs
Before and after school clubs mostly care for children aged four to 11 years. These clubs may be run by schools, day nurseries, voluntary groups or provided by childminders. Some clubs provide breakfast in the morning and sometimes a light tea after school. They are responsible for getting your child to and from school.
Holiday childcare
There are 38 weeks are school term time so this leaves 14 weeks of holiday childcare to organise. Holiday childcare can be provided by summer camps, holiday clubs and schemes or childminders. Clubs may be themed for example dance clubs, football camps, play schemes and multi-activity sessions. Remember that parents of children under 12 and those with disabilities under 17, may be eligible for Tax Free Childcare.
