Just over 6,000 people work for the Council, making it one of the largest employers in the city.
The jobs they do range from social work to teaching Derby's children to engineering, lawyers, surveyors and environmental health officers.

The People Services Directorate was formed on 1st September 2015 and brings together all our services for adults in need of support, children and families, learning and skills, and public health. We work closely with our partners to provide individuals and families with joined-up services that help them achieve the best outcomes.
