Derby Market Hall will be transformed into a canine paradise as it hosts its first ever dog show. Held in partnership with the Market Hall’s resident experts, Dawkins Pet Supplies, Derby Dog Show on Saturday 11 April promises a full day of family-friendly fun.
Owners of all breeds and skill levels are welcome to participate - it’s the place to be, whether your pup is a seasoned poser, has the waggiest tale or is just an amazing sausage catcher!
The day will feature a diverse program of competitive classes, plus a dedicated agility course. It’s not all about the dogs, though - alongside Derby Market Hall’s regular market traders, a pop-up market featuring a selection of local stalls will also be offering handmade crafts, gifts, and unique treats.
Rosettes will be awarded to all category winners, leading up to the crowning of the prize-winning Best in Show. The dedicated registration desk will be open from 10am and entry is priced at £2 per class.

- 12noon - Precious Puppy (up to 1yr), sponsored by Potful of Crumble
- 12:15pm - Gorgeous Girl, sponsored by Caffè Prosecco
- 12:30pm - Beautiful Boy, sponsored by Lamama Style
- 12:45pm - Super Senior (7yrs+), sponsored by Arepita
- 1pm - Waggiest Tail, sponsored by Eredità & aDesso
- 2pm - Best Fancy Dress, sponsored by The Paint Kettle
- 2:15pm - Looks Like Owner, sponsored by Vintage & Vinyl
- 2:30pm - Judge Would Take Home, sponsored by Mark’s Wilder Gardens
- 2:45pm - Best Sausage Catcher, sponsored by Derbyshire’s Own
- 3pm - Best in Show, sponsored by Dawkins Pet Supplies
In addition to the main arena, an agility course sponsored by Snap & Chat Connect will be open between 10am and 4pm. For £1 per go, dogs can test their speed and coordination, with photos available to capture the action. There will also be a dedicated photo station to capture the perfect memory of the day with your beloved pooch.
