Residents in neighbourhoods across the city will now be able to access information and advice on community safety closer to home with the launch of a new Community Hub vehicle.
The Community Hub vehicle, which has been launched in partnership with Derby Homes, will visit communities on a regular timetable, making it easier for residents to receive face-to-face support without needing to travel into the city centre or to Council offices. The initiative has been designed to help residents access a range of services from Derby Homes on community safety, including:
- Information and advice on community safety
- How to report concerns such as anti-social behaviour
Alongside travelling to neighbourhoods, the Community Hub will also be deployed in Derby city centre to provide a reassuring point of contact for residents and visitors who need advice and support. It will further support events run by Derby Homes and the Council’s Community Safety and Public Protection teams to tackle anti-social behaviour and to support with safety campaigns.
Since its launch on Thursday 30 July, the vehicle has started visiting locations across the city for community engagement, allowing residents to speak with the Public Protection and Community Safety teams. Dates and locations for the vehicle will be guided by reports received by the teams.

The launch of the Community Hub vehicle is a key part of how we are actively working to support our communities across the city. The vehicle will provide a safe and welcoming environment and will be a confidential space for residents to have conversations and receive support.
By partnering with Derby Homes, the Council’s Arm’s Length Management Organisation, we are ensuring that the high-visibility presence is reaching the people who need it most. The vehicle will also be an essential service for events such as Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week, ensuring that we can listen to residents and keep our communities safe.
The vehicle will provide a welcoming environment and a safe, confidential space for conversations and support, whether in local neighbourhoods or in the city centre.
The launch of the mobile Community Hub forms part of Derby City Council and Derby Homes’ wider commitment to working with communities, reducing inequalities, promoting community safety and ensuring residents can access support in a way that works for them.
