Who we are?
The Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub is funded by various programmes. These include the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Programme (UKSPF) funded by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC), the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer funded by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), and hosted by Derby City Council.

How do we collect information from you?
We collect information from you when you:
- fill in any forms linked to the delivery of our UKSPF and Youth Guarantee Trailblazer funded programmes.
- attend any training featured on Derby Jobs Weekly, that may be delivered by our team, or other internal or external training providers such as Derby Adult Learning Service.
- speak to us on the phone or talk to us face to face at events.
- contact us in writing or by emailing us at employmentandskills@derby.gov.uk.
What types of information do we collect from you?
We collect different categories of information about you, depending on the service you want from us and/or the reason why we need to process information relating to you. This could be personal information, for example your name and address, or other more sensitive data that we would only collect and use in very particular circumstances that are set out in law.
Details of information obtained from third parties?
We will collect data from the following sources:
- Other Statutory Organisations including Department of Work and Pensions and Health Support Organisations.
- Local Community and Voluntary Sector this will include organisations that provide support to the community including places of worship.
- Other Council Directorates these include Welfare Reform, Children and Young People, Social Services, Derby Adult Learning Services (this is not an exhaustive list).
- Training and Employment Support providers including, National Careers Services, Derby Adult Learning Service, Standguide Ltd, YMCA.
- Educational Institutions including local colleges and schools.
- Other programmes funded through UKSPF & Youth Guarantee Trailblazer.
Third party referral forms will only be shared with your consent.
How is your information used?
Depending on your requirements, we will use the information you have provided to:
- Register your enrolment on Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub activities.
- Assess your eligibility for Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub services.
- Provide you with information on programmes, schemes or courses that we feel will be of benefit to you.
- Refer you to employers, training providers, employability supporting organisations and programmes such as the National Careers Services, Individually Personalised Support, Derby Adult Learning Services.
- Monitor your participation and progress on activities linked to the Derby Jobs Employment and Skills Hub.
- Report on UKSPF/Youth Guarantee Trailblazer delivery to our funders.

Research and statistics
Anonymised and pseudonymised data may be used for research and statistical purposes. Any data collected may be used for research and statistical purposes that are relevant and compatible with the purpose that the data was collected for.
Who has access to your information?
Your personal data is being collected to comply with UK Government requirements for the delivery of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Youth Guarantee Trailblazer. As part of the process our organisation may share your personal data with relevant government departments including:
- Derby City Council
- Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC)
- Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
- Department for Education (DfE)
- His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
- East Midlands Combined County Authority
We may also share your data with other services provided by or on behalf of Derby City Council. This will only be done with your prior agreement.
We will not sell or rent your information to third parties. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
What are your rights?
- Access – you can request copies of any of your personal information that is held by the Council.
- Rectification – you can ask us to correct any incorrect information.
- Deletion – you can ask us to delete your personal information. The Council can refuse to delete information if we have a lawful reason to keep this.
- Portability – you can ask us to transfer your personal data to different services or to you.
- Right to object or restrict processing – you have the right to object to how your data is being used and how it is going to be used in the future.
- Right to prevent automatic decisions – you have the right to challenge a decision that affects you that has been made automatically without human intervention, for example an online form with an instant decision.
How long will we keep your information?
For the time that you are enrolled on the programme and for a period of up to twelve months after you leave the scheme, your information will be retained by Derby City Council Derby Employment Hub. We keep and dispose of all records in line with our record retention schedule; information about this is at https://www.derby.gov.uk/retention-schedule/. We will comply with Data Protection legislation.
What security precautions are in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information?
We are strongly committed to data security and will take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or corruption. We have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the information you provide to us. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us. We recommend that you take every precaution to protect your personal information.
Keeping your data up to date
We want to ensure any information we hold is accurate. You should check and update your personal information through Employee Self-Service or by promptly informing us of any changes to the information we hold about you.
Details of any automated decision processes
No automated decision processing takes place with the data you provide.
Under 13
If you are accessing online services and are under the age of 13, please get your parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide us with personal information.
Opt out
If you do not wish your personal data to be used for ESF evaluation purposes please contact esf.evaluations@dwp.gsi.gov.uk and they will delete your data held for these purposes and you won’t be contacted about participating in research.
Cookies

IP addresses
Internet Protocol (IP) addresses are collected when our site is used:
- for statistical/analytical purposes
