Overview of the scheme

Since the Derby Roadside NO2 Scheme became part of the UK Government’s wider Clean Air Strategy 2019, Derby City Council has delivered a package of measures to manage vehicle flows in the scheme area.

The Council will continue to monitor the effectiveness of the scheme with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.

Wider air quality monitoring data, from to 2017 to 2021, can be found on our Air Quality page.

Derby’s air quality monitoring data is also available on our mapping portal. Click on the main menu (three horizontal lines) in the top left-hand corner of the mapping portal, select 'Map Features' and 'Air Quality Management Data' and choose a year.
