Council Tax and business rates phone lines

The telephone service for Council Tax and business rates will be unavailable on Friday 4 October. You can still contact us online to tell us of any changes in circumstances, make a payment arrangement or make a payment. Our telephone service will resume on Monday 7 October.

Terms and conditions

The permit holder must take full responsibility for the use of the permit and agree that the permit issued will be used in accordance with the following conditions:

  • The permit will become invalid and a Penalty Charge Notice will be issued to the vehicle provided with a permit if the permit is being misused by the driver.
  • The permit is for residents only and should not be used by commuters or employees.
  • Permits are only valid where there is a permit exemption for a specific street or zone as indicated by the permit type and parking regulations.
  • The permit does not allow the holder to park on yellow lines.
  • The permit does not guarantee the holder a space, nor does it render Derby City Council liable in respect of theft or damage to any vehicle or its contents whilst in a parking space.
  • Vehicles must be parked in accordance with the restrictions. Please check the traffic signs.
  • Derby City Council does not give refunds for any resident or resident visitor permits.
  • Derby City Council reserve the right to cancel your resident permit without a refund should you no longer reside within the parking zone or street.
  • Derby City Council have the right to refuse the issuing of a parking permit and also have the right to cancel and request the return of a parking permit.
  • The permit owner must provide legitimate proofs of both residency and vehicle ownership for the resident permit they are purchasing.
  • The permit cannot be transferred between different owners.
  • A permit can only be transferred to another resident's parking zone if there are more than six months remaining until the permit expiry date.
