Abbey Street Area

Derby City Council (Abbey Street Area Parking Management) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Amendment to Map Based Schedule) (No. 159) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Derby City Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 9, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53 and part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers in that behalf.

The purpose of the order will be to introduce:

Proposed Limited Waiting (2 hours no return 1 hour) (Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm) (Permit Holder Exemption) to replace No Waiting (At Any Time)

Spa Lane

  • From the existing single yellow line outside number 40, for an approximate distance of 8m heading towards its junction with Burton Road
  • Opposite number 17/19 for an approximate distance of 3m

Grey Street

  • Opposite number 44/48 for an approximate distance of 5m
  • Adjacent to Lighting Column LC35120 for an approximate distance of 4m

Gerard Street

  • Outside number 175 to outside number 167 for an approximate distance of 20m
  • Outside number 157 to outside number 155 for an approximate distance of 10m
  • Outside number 152 for an approximate distance of 15m
  • Outside number 126 to outside number 122 for an approximate distance of 10m
  • Outside number 123 for an approximate distance of 5m
  • Outside number 93 to outside number 95 for an approximate distance of 10m

  • From outside number 4 Lower Eley Street to the existing double yellow lines adjacent to number 18 Spa Lane for an approximate distance of 26m

Grey Street

  • Opposite number 42/44 for an approximate distance of 5m
  • Opposite number 34/36 for an approximate distance of 20m
  • Opposite number 18/20 for an approximate distance of 14m

Proposed Limited Waiting (30mins No Return 1 hour) (8am to 6pm) to replace No Waiting (At Any Time)

Gerard Street

  • Outside number 184 for an approximate distance of 5m
  • Outside number 182 for an approximate distance of 10m

Proposed Extension of Existing Zone 5 Permit Holders Only (Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6pm) to replace No Waiting (At Any Time)

Webster Street

  • Outside number 1 on both sides of the road for an approximate distance of 8m

Harcourt Street

  • Outside number 1 for an approximate distance of 6m

Proposed Permit Holders Only (At Any Time) to replace Permit Holder Only (Monday to Saturday 8am from 6pm)

Abbots Barn Close

  • For its entire length

Proposed No Waiting (At Any Time)

Spa Lane

  • From outside the entrance to Premier Meat for an approximate distance of 11m

Grey Street

  • From opposite numbers 18/20 and 22/24 for an approximate distance of 6.5
  • From opposite numbers 34/36 and 38/40 for an approximate distance of 8.5m

Objections to the proposal stating your grounds of objection should be sent, in writing, to Traffic and Transportation, Communities and Place, Derby City Council, Council House, Corporation Street, Derby, DE1 2FS or by email to traffic.management@derby.gov.uk to be received no later than 17th July 2026.
