Support and Accommodation
Derby City Learning Disabilities and Autism Younger Adult Supported Accommodation Strategy 2025 to 2040.
The purpose of this Strategy is to describe the current and future accommodation needs for younger adults, aged 18-64, with a learning disability, or autistic people who live in Derby City, and/or who have Care Act 2014 eligible support needs that are the responsibility of Derby City Council, that includes an accommodation-based support need.
Supported Accommodation in this Strategy refers to Care Homes, Supported Living settings, Extra Care and Shared Lives schemes. The focus is on a person’s main home rather than respite accommodation.
The audience for the Strategy includes people with a learning disability or autistic people, their families and carers, health, social care, housing and planning partners, and providers.
