Journey to Work programme

Our Journey to Work programme combines Employability sessions, with 121 intensive employment focussed support, skills delivery and / or work placement to offer you an alternative opportunity and routeway into employment. 

We offer three journey to work programmes for young people, 16 to 15, who are currently not in employment or education and wish to move into employment.  

1. Journey to Work General - A 6 week programme consisting of: 

• • three days per week work experience (we have a range of work experience opportunities for you to offer)
  • one day employability training
  • a weekly 121 session with your assigned employment advisor.

2. Journey to Work Construction – a 6-week programme consisting of: 

• two days construction skills training
• option to gain an CSCS Card – so you can gain work experience / work on site. 
• one day of employability skills training
• employer enrichment activities – with a range of employers from the construction sector including; Balfour Beatty, Linsco and Action for Constuction. 

3. Journey to Work Welding and Fabrication – a 6 week programme consisting of: 

• one day welding fabrication skills training
• one day employability skills training
• one day employer enrichment activity – with a range of employers such as, EON.
