Buy with Confidence is a nationally recognised Trading Standards trader approval scheme. The aim of the scheme is to provide residents with a reliable source of trustworthy local businesses.
What checks are carried out?
All our members have been visited, vetted and approved by Trading Standards to ensure they operate in a legal, honest and fair way.
In order to become a member of Buy with Confidence, businesses are checked for their commitment to customer service and compliance with consumer protection law. We do this by carrying out the following checks:
- review of local and national Trading Standards databases for complaints
- credit checks
- criminal record checks
- audit of paperwork, terms and conditions, and websites
- referee checks.
