Admission arrangements and policies
Community and voluntary-aided schools and academies
The admission arrangements for all community and voluntary-aided schools and academies in Derby city must be determined by 15 March every year, even if they have not changed from previous years and a consultation has not been required.
The determined admission arrangements for infant, junior, primary and secondary schools are used to allocate places at schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

These are the set and agreed-on arrangements for admissions into schools following the outcome of a consultation.
We are required to publish our determined admission arrangements together with those of other admission authorities within Derby city.
Objections to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator
The deadline for making an objection to the Schools Adjudicator is 15 May 2025.
Any decision of the adjudicator must be acted on by the admission authority and admission arrangements amended accordingly.

Temporary variations in Published Admissions Number
The Bemrose School
Temporary variation to their PAN for September 2025. The increase will be from 220 to 230.
This temporary variation will be reviewed throughout the 2025/2026 academic year and the school may revert back to the determined PAN of 220.

Sir Ralph Sherwin Trust admission arrangements
The Sir Ralph Sherwin Trust have advised us that they will be consulting independently on the proposed admission arrangements for all of their primary schools within the administrative area of Derby City Council for the academic year 2027-28. The consultation will take place between 23 October 2025 and 4 December 2025. The Trust have also been included within the Council's consultation document.
