Household Support Fund
The Household Support Fund (HSF) ended on 31 March 2026.
Derby City Council was allocated £3.920 million in Household Support Funding from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to support residents struggling with the cost of living between 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
Support offered under HSF
Support was provided in the following ways for eligible Derby households most in need:
Free school meals
More than 16,860 Derby city households with children receiving benefit-related free school meals were supported with supermarket food vouchers providing 1,01035+ meals during the school term breaks between April 2025 and March 2026.
Food vouchers
Since April 2025 more than 4930 households have been supported, with over £743,100 awarded in supermarket food vouchers.
Warm Welcome hubs
The fund also provided financial support for over 40 local community services and organisations across the city to offer a community led cost of living support network that included a warm welcome, hot meal, support towards reducing energy costs as well as help accessing other cost of living support.
Since Summer 2025, the hubs received more than 47,230 visits from adults and over 4850 children.
Energy support
Since September 2025 more than 2720 eligible households have been supported, with over £225,850 awarded in energy vouchers.
Crisis Resilience Fund
