Food hygiene inspections

All food businesses operating within Derby City are subject to food safety inspections in accordance with Derby City Council’s inspection programme.

The food hygiene scores are published/publicly available on the Food Standards Agency website. Search by food premises name.

The website is updated every three weeks. The data relating to those businesses that achieve a food hygiene rating of 5 is published automatically at every upload, but for businesses that achieve a rating of 4 and below there is a 35 day delay from the date of the inspection to allow for any appeals.

IT security/cyber security

IT security and cyber security information is exempt under section 31(3) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We have published guidance on why we will not provide information relating to IT security and IT systems – hardware/software, Cyber Attacks, Ransom Attacks, Malware and other related topics.

Services we are entitled to recover a fee for

  • Local Land Charges price list - relates to the provision of full searches of the Local Land Charges Register, LLC1 form, CON29 and CON29 optional enquiries. For more information visit our Local Land Charges Page.
  • Planning application fees
  • Planning pre-application fees
  • Electoral open register – various charges apply to requests for copies of the open register in either paper or data format. Charges depend on the number of electors will differ for each polling district and ward. Contact elections@derby.gov.uk for further details and payment options.
  • Marked copies of the electoral register and marked absent vote lists following an election – these can be requested by political parties. Charges apply based on data or paper copies and include an administration charge and a fee per thousand electors (or part of). Contact elections@derby.gov.uk for further details and payment options.

Tackling poor air quality

We monitor nitrogen dioxide as part of the Environment Act 1995: Part 3 Local Air Quality Management process to comply with the National Air Quality Objectives, and check that measures to reduce emissions of nitrogen dioxide are working.
