Appointee Service

Derby City Council offers an Appointee Service to those citizens who need it. To qualify someone must meet all of the following criteria:

• aged 18 or over
• be eligible for care and support from the Council
• have enough income to pay for the service, or have been awarded a personal budget if needed
• lack the mental capacity to make financial decisions and / or be at risk of financial abuse (with clear evidence provided)
• have no other person or organization who can take on this role
• have an active involvement with adult social care services

All referrals for this service must be made by a social worker from adult social care services and have undertaken a mental capacity assessment.
